Playing the Game
Pinch Bank is an early-stage Neobank with gamer-focused products and rewards. Unlike traditional banks that feel massive, impersonal, and boring, we collaborated with Pinch to create a brand that speaks to gamers, supplemented by a gamified app that customers actually want to use. The UX needed to have the look and feel of playing a game itself.
We also needed to show that with every swipe of a Pinch debit card, gamers could not only fund their subscriptions but also allocate transaction fees away from the bank and directly to their favorite Content Creators. Overall, the goal was to create a digital experience that would drive waitlist sign-ups, spark joy and intrigue in investors, gamers, and
strategic partners such as Visa.
To create a banking brand that speaks to gamers, the design needed to comprehensively represent the ecosystem of gaming. Therefore we created a communication strategy using familiar gamer language, an immersive design system, and an immensely playable app interface accented with rewards, sharing loops, and playful interactions.
The visual identity for Pinch is characterized by a gaming-favorite red and blue color palette, accents of digital typography, and gaming-style 3D animation and effects. The result is a fun and dynamic UX that attracts and retains their targeted audience.
