Revolutionizing
the Perfect Fit.
Body shapes and sizes aren’t standardized, yet the clothes we wear are. Especially with denim, finding the perfect fit can be daunting, if not impossible. Enter Unspun, a company set on breaking the status quo with fashion.
With zero inventory and personalized production, Unspun is on a mission to eliminate textile waste as well as fashion’s standardization of body shapes and sizes. Through our partnership, we were able to create a digital experience that promotes a “size-free” social and retail culture.
Our goals were to enhance Unspun’s vision of irreversibly innovating the fashion industry.
We achieved this by targeting a wide range of audiences — from people who struggle with fit to tech enthusiasts and the environmentally-conscious consumer — and we created a joy-filled buying experience as unique as them.
Inspired by Unspun’s 3D body scanning process, we wanted to illustrate the idea of a perfect fit for every body type. Both our visual and interaction designs utilize morphing shapes as a nod to Unspun’s jeans that wrap around your body type. The confident typography, bright-on-muted colors, and magazine-style layout come together to emphasize the connections between technology and fashion, the core components of the Unspun products.
We created an experience for users to choose their denim’s style, fabric, hem, thread color, and waist rise. As the user customizes their jeans, an updated image reflects their unique pair, providing a truly one-of-a-kind CX.
We also created a lookbook for Unspun that reflects the art direction of morphing shapes, reinforcing the brand’s size-free philosophy. Since Unspun jeans are highly customizable, each image showcases the exact configuration upon hover to make checkout even more convenient.
